The church’s architecture remembers the influence of cistercian style (Burgundian Gothic) started to be built by the Teutonic Knights. Then we’ll go to Sighisoara Citadel, one of the best preserved medieval cities from Europe, being situated in Mures County, on the valley of the Tarnava Mare River. Here houses are built very close to one another, giving a sense of “crowdedness” (in order to occupy the least space possible). Sightseeing through the medieval centre will include: the Sighisoara History Museum housed by the Clock Tower (the symbol of the citadel), the Venetian House, Covered stairs passage, Church on the Hill.
On the way back can be made a detour to Viscri Fortified Church ~ a village where you’ll have the feeling that time stopped ~ to see a Saxon traditional village life. Back in Brasov for accommodation and leisure.

Day 3 BRASOV – RASNOV - BRAN – BUCHAREST
Breakfast. Visit two of the most fortified settlements from south Transylvania. First one is Rasnov Fortress. Built in 1331, the Fortress had a defense role and it was a shelter for the people of Rasnov against invaders. A “city within a city”~ called by historians. In the middle of the courtyard there are a Well of 146 meters deep and the ruins of an 11th - 12th century - Orthodox Church. Nowadays the Fortress is an open air museum.
Continue our journey to Bran village with its famous Bran Castle situated not far from Brasov at the entrance in the Bran - Rucar passage. The castle got its fame from Dracula’s legend written in 1897 by Bram Stoker. The first documents mention Bran Castle in 1377. Along the history, the Castle had a strategic mission being the border between Transylvania and Walachia. First it was under the rule of the King of Hungary Sigismund of Luxembourg, then under the Romanian Prince Mircea cel Batran – as a gift from the king of Hungary during his lifetime and later on it came under the jurisdiction of the City of Brasov. In 1912 it was donated by the municipality of Brasov to the Romanian Royal family, in order to become their residence.
