The Saxon heritages are also represented by Prejmer Fortified Church ~ UNESCO Monument, Rasnov Fortress and by the citadel of Sighisoara also being under UNESCO Heritage List. A visit at the famous Bran Castle will end the tour sites.

In the morning meet the guide in your location from Bucharest.
Leave the city on the route to Sinaia a mountain resort. Visit at Sinaia Monastery which was founded by Prince Mihai Cantacuzino in 1695 and named after the great Sinai Monastery on Mount Sinai on his Near East pilgrimage. From here our next stop will be at Peles Castle, the former summer residence of the kings of Romania at Sinaia. Nowadays the Castle is one of the most important museums in Romania where one can admire furniture and ornamental objects, carpets, tapestry, sculptures, paintings, collections of weapons from the 15th up to 19th centuries.
The day ends in Brasov with a visit of the medieval centre of Brasov. The main sites are: The Council Square, Black Church, White and Black Towers, Weaver’s Bastion and Ekaterina’s Gate, Saint Nicholas Church – where was made the first school in Romanian language, The Rope’s street – the narrowest street in Romania and SE Europe. Accommodation at Casa Wagner 3* or similar centrally located.

Breakfast. Depart from Brasov to explore the Saxon heritages from the area. First stop at Prejmer Fortress, one of the best preserved of its kind in Eastern Europe. The church’s architecture remembers the influence of cistercian style (Burgundian Gothic) started to be built by the Teutonic Knights. Then we’ll go to Sighisoara Citadel, one of the best preserved medieval cities from Europe, being situated in Mures County, on the valley of the Tarnava Mare River. Here houses are built very close to one another, giving a sense of “crowdedness” (in order to occupy the least space possible). Sightseeing through the medieval centre will include: the Sighisoara History Museum housed by the Clock Tower (the symbol of the citadel), the Venetian House, Covered stairs passage, Church on the Hill.
On the way back can be made a detour to Viscri Fortified Church ~ a village where you’ll have the feeling that time stopped ~ to see a Saxon traditional village life. Back in Brasov for accommodation and leisure.

Breakfast. Visit two of the most fortified settlements from south Transylvania. First one is Rasnov Fortress. Built in 1331, the Fortress had a defense role and it was a shelter for the people of Rasnov against invaders. A “city within a city”~ called by historians. In the middle of the courtyard there are a Well of 146 meters deep and the ruins of an 11th - 12th century - Orthodox Church. Nowadays the Fortress is an open air museum.
Continue our journey to Bran village with its famous Bran Castle situated not far from Brasov at the entrance in the Bran - Rucar passage. The castle got its fame from Dracula’s legend written in 1897 by Bram Stoker. The first documents mention Bran Castle in 1377. Along the history, the Castle had a strategic mission being the border between Transylvania and Walachia. First it was under the rule of the King of Hungary Sigismund of Luxembourg, then under the Romanian Prince Mircea cel Batran – as a gift from the king of Hungary during his lifetime and later on it came under the jurisdiction of the City of Brasov. In 1912 it was donated by the municipality of Brasov to the Romanian Royal family, in order to become their residence.
After the Bran Castle visit spend some time for souvenirs shopping and then leave Transylvania for Bucharest where we’ll reach in the evening.
